Now when the brutal Dictator is dead, finished, gone to the fjords we can only hope and support the new government in Libya in their struggle to establish democracy. Now in the Arabic spring what to do next? It is actually quite simply. It is to solve the mother of all conflicts-Israel. This Jewish state that now after the fall of the apartheid state in South Africa, is the only state that applies apartheid to their citizens, it is time that we in the west show that this was a giant mistake and that the solution is to treat all people equal and to enforce the UN resolutions against Israel.
From other conflicts we know that it takes 3 generations for all the hate to diminished and this conflict is so full of hate, religion and historic claims that here we need to step in with real forces, separate the parties for a long while and then say 20 years from now, start to slowly integrate the people in the region again. Then under secular states with true democracy.
It is a shame that we 2011 and soon 2012 support a country that builds a wall to separate them from the neighbors.
The problem is that we dont have these leaders in the western countries. On the EU level it is a joke with a president more interested to build a castle and a foreign minister so grey she blends in perfectly with a 1950's morris minor.
